Thanks to the anti-abrasion properties of the original strings, the material is surprisingly tough and hard-wearing. The breathable fabric requires no chemical treatment whatsoever; only a natural antibacterial finish based on silver ions ensures that sweat bacteria don't stand a chance and unpleasant odours stay away.
